The American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout is a one-day event, but employers can make a lasting impact on clearing the air by offering employees the tools and resources they need to beat their nicotine addiction. According to the CDC, each smoker on payroll costs a company $3,383 annually. That’s more than $1,600 in excess medical expenses plus more than $1,700 in health-related productivity losses.
